An excellent combination of an archaeological, cultural and rural tour in Peru and Bolivia in which you will visit destinations such as Lima, Peru's capital and its colonial architecture, the city of Cuzco and its numerous vestiges, visit the Inca's Sacred Valley and its archaeological monuments, the majestic Machu Picchu citadel, Puno and Titicaca Lake where you'll enjoy its archaeology, costumes and ancient traditions, La Paz and its impressive archaeological remains.

Day 1: ... / Lima


Reception and transfer from the airport to the hotel

Day 2: Lima


Guided tour around Lima and the Historical Center, with typical traits of the Colonial times, such as the Government Palace, the Main Square, located in the heart of the city, the City Hall, the Cathedral and the San Francisco Convent, a fascinating display of colonial art, considered World Cultural Heritage. Your visit will continue around the residential districts of San Isidro and Miraflores, entertainment and tourist centers, ending your tour at Larcomar where you will enjoy a wonderful panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean.

Day 3: Lima / Cusco


Reception and transfer from the hotel to the airport

Tour around the magical city of Cuzco, visiting the historic Main Square and the Cathedral, both of colonial style, as well as the Koricancha or Temple of the Sun, ancient adoration Inca centre for the Sun God. The tour will continue with a visit to the Fortress of Sacsayhuaman, built entirely of perfectly fitted carved stones and where the Inti Raymi celebration takes place every year. You will also visit ancient Inca centers such as Kenko, labyrinth in Quechua, where several ceremonies and rituals took place; Puca Pucara, with vigilance spots or "tambos" along the Inca Trail; and Tambomachay, also know as the Inca Baths, the Inca tribute to the liquid element or Unu.

Day 4: Cusco / Sacred Valley


Tour to the Sacred Valley Visit the colorful handicraft market of Pisaq. Lunch at a local restaurant. Finally, visit Ollantaytambo, Inca fortress built to watch the entrance to the valley.

Day 5: Sacred Valley / Machu Picchu


Transfer to the train station.
Train ride in superior class, Vistadome, to the Machu Picchu ruins. You'll be taken by bus from the Aguas Calientes train station to the top of the mountain where you can find the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu. After the two hour guided tour, lunch at a local restaurant.

Day 6: Machu Picchu / Cusco


Second visit to Machu Picchu, where you'll have the free morning to visit the ruins or to climb up the Huayna Picchu peak, the great mountain behind the citadel. The guide is not included in this excursion.
Back to the Aguas Calientes train station at the appropriate time to take the train back to Cuzco.

Day 7: Cusco / Puno


Transfer to the bus station
Travel by bus for eight hours on board of the Inka Express from Cusco. You will make some stops along the way on places such as the Andahuaylillas town and its church, known as the America's Sistine Chapel, the Raqchi complex where the Wiracocha temple is located; La Raya, the highest point of this journey; and finally, the Pucara town before arriving to the city of Puno.

Day 8: Puno


Transfer to the Uros Islands, ancient inhabitants of the lake, known for the way they have built this islands weaving layers of "totora", a local type of reed Transfer to Taquile Islands. You will take a walk to the town and visit the artisan centre where you will find a variety of textiles and hand made weavings very fine and multicolored. Then you will take the boat back to Puno.

Day 9: Puno / La Paz


Transfer from the hotel to the bus station.
Bus to La Paz and upon arrival transfer to the hotel.

Day 10: La Paz


You will be picked up from your hotel to visit the famous witch market and the colonial San Francisco church, you will continue towards Plaza Murillo where the Metropolitan Cathedral is located as well as the Government Palace and the Parliament. Then you will visit the famous Jaen Street, where the most important museums in the city are concentrated, and then you will continue toward the replica of the semi subterranean temple from Tiawanaku culture. For a change of scenery you will visit the residential areas of Obrajes, Calacoto and La Florida. The visit ends with an spectacular view of the Moon Valley, where you will have the chance to take a short walk and visit a ceramics workshops for a demonstration of this art.
 

Day 11: La Paz / Tiawanaku


You will visit the ancient capital of a civilization that dates from 700 B.C., located at 76 km (47 miles) from La Paz. During its time of splendor, Tiwanaku was the main ceremonial centre and crib of the Andean culture. There are several theories about its origins and lithic symbols, but nowadays is said that this magnificent civilization comes after the Inca culture and that its founders Manco Capac and Mama Ocllo of Tiwanakota origin, bearers of this great civilization. According to C 14 tests its emergence was around 1580 B.C.
 

Day 12: Catamaran La Paz / Puno


In the morning you will take a bus to Copacabana where you will make a short visit. Then you will board a catamaran towards Sun Island. Upon arrival you will visit some Inca ruins and Inti Wata complex. Then you will be part of an ancestral ceremony called Kallawaya and an exhibition of navigation on the lake. Then you will return to the catamaran towards Copacabana where you will board a bus back to Puno. Reception and transfer from the bus station towards the airport. Flight from Puno to Lima. Reception and transfer to the hotel in Lima.
 

Day 13: Lima / ...


Transfer from the hotel to the airport.
