Tour Description:
Live one of the most fascinating experiences in Peru, roam the Inca Trail towards Machu Picchu where you will be able to enjoy an adventure, mysticism and ecology tour, on your way you will find the Inca's Sacred Valley, its ruins and archeological monuments, ending the trip arriving to the grand citadel, an experience you will never forget.

Itinerary

Day 1: ... / Lima


Reception and transfer from Airport to the Hotel.
Overnight at Hotel.

 

Day 2: Lima


Guided tour around Lima and the Historical Center, with typical traits of the Colonial times, such as the Government Palace, the Main Square, located in the heart of the city, the City Hall, the Cathedral and the San Francisco Convent, a fascinating display of colonial art, considered World Cultural Heritage. Your visit will continue around the residential districts of San Isidro and Miraflores, entertainment and touristic centers, ending your tour at Larcomar where you will enjoy a wonderful panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean.

Day 3: Lima / Cusco


Reception and transfer from Airport to the Hotel.

Transfer from the airport to the hotel. Tour around the magical city of Cusco, visiting the historic Main Square and the Cathedral, both of colonial style, as well as the Koricancha or Temple of the Sun, ancient adoration Inca centre for the Sun God. The tour will continue with a visit to the Fortress of Sacsayhuaman, built entirely of perfectly fitted carved stones and where the Inti Raymi celebration takes place every year. You will also visit ancient Inca centres such as Kenko, labyrinth in Quechua, where several ceremonies and rituals took place; Puca Pucara, with vigilance spots or "tambos" along the Inca Trail; and Tambomachay, also know as the Inca Baths, the Inca tribute to the liquid element or Unu. The tour comes to its end at the Misminay native community, where you can enjoy of their handicrafts exhibit.

Day 4: Cusco / Sacred Valley


Tour to the Sacred Valley Visit the colorful handicraft market of Pisaq. Lunch at a local restaurant. Finally, visit Ollantaytambo, Inca fortress built to watch the entrance to the valley.

Day 5: Sacred Valley / Inca Trail


Around 7:00 am you will be picked up from your hotel to start the journey by bus towards 82 km. After checking in the controls you will start the hiking of 6 hours of walking approximately at the edges of Urubamba River, to Llactapata archaeological site, where you will have lunch. The entire hike will last around 6 hours (13 kilometers or 8 miles) until the Guayllabamba camp.
 

Day 6: Inca Trail


The greatest challenge: 16 kilometers (9940 miles) of ascension to walk through the two highest passages, including Warmiwañusca, at 4,200 m.s.n.m (13,780 ft.). This is the highest point of the whole hike, (approximately are 8 hours of walking) you will enjoy impressive landscapes of hills and peaks and the beautiful half tropical valley. The hike includes the visit to Runkurakay and Sayacmarca archaeological sites. Camp at Pacaymayu.
 

Day 7: Inca Trail


This is a calmer day; you will walk 8 hours approximately (only 10 kilometers / 6 miles) and most of the route is flat and full of slopes. You will have the chance to observe how the geography starts to change, from mountainous and dry, to green and half tropical. In the way visit to Phuyupatamarca and Intipata to arrive, finally to Wiñaywayna where the last camp of the trek will be install.
 

Day 8: Inca Trail / Machu Picchu


After breakfast, very early departure towards Inti Punku (Sun Gate), the entrance of the ancient Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, from here you will walk down along valleys, approximately two hour walk to enjoy a guided visit to this magical place.

Day 9: Machu Picchu / Cusco


Free morning to visit the Machu Picchu ruins or to go up the Huayna Picchu peak, the great mountain behind the citadel. The guide is not included in this excursion.
Back to the Aguas Calientes train station at the appropriate time to take the train back to Cusco.
Transfer from the train station to your hotel in Cusco.
Overnight at Hotel.

 

Day 10: Cusco / Lima


Transfer from the hotel to the airport.
Airline ticket from Cusco to Lima
Reception and transfer from Airport to the Hotel.
Overnight at Hotel.

 

Day 11: Lima / ...
